It has settings specific to running, cycling and other sports. It comes with a dual-sensor chest strap which can track your total calorie burn in real-time. In the general settings you can input your age, gender and weight for a more customized count. The Forerunner 305 GPS has a high-sensitivity receiver which improves tracking around tall buildings and under trees. All of the training data is saved automatically and its memory can hold up to two years of data. The unit takes very little to setup and become operational. Out of the box, you will need to charge it for about three hours via the USB port. Whenever you go outside the unit will need to snyc up with orbiting satellites (less than one minute).
